Hyderabad: Tollywood music director of Gulabi fame, Shashi Preetam, 45, was allegedly attacked by his neighbour on Friday in Madhapur area.

Police said that an argument broke out between Preetam and one Bhanu Prasad, 50, over a financial issue, which led to Prasad hitting Preetam on his face. Police said that Preetam and Prasad are neighbours residing at Kavuri Hills in Madhapur area. In 2012, the two had made an agreement for making a documentary and Prasad had invested Rs 1.5 lakh in the project.

Fight was over non-payment
Tollywood music director of Gulabi fame, Shashi Preetam, 45, was allegedly attacked by his neighbour Bhanu Prasad on Friday for not returning the money given to him for a project. However, due to his ill-health, Prasad later withdrew from the project and gave complete rights to Preetam, for which the latter had to pay him Rs 1.5 lakh.

As Preetam did not pay the amount, the two had had arguments earlier on the issue. “On Friday, they met in front of their house and entered into an argument. It became big and Prasad attacked Preetam,” said Madhapur sub-inspector P. Naresh.

A case for wrongful restraint (341 IPC),  voluntarily causing hurt (323 IPC) and criminal intimidation (506 IPC) was registered against Prasad. Preetam was sent for medical examination. Sources said that Prasad was taken into custody for questioning.
