Hyderabad: Cyberabad police, investigating some of India’s biggest data heists, issued notice to the social media platform Facebook, banks, including Axis Bank, SBI and Bank of Baroda, besides other companies like Tech Mahindra, PhonePe, Club Mahindra, Policy Bazaar, Big Basket and third party agencies of banks, Astute Group and Matrix.

“Notices have been served on them under Section 160 of the CrPC, seeking their explanation on the data of their customers found in possession of the accused. Accordingly, further course of action would be decided,” an investigator said.

Cyberabad cybercrime officials told Deccan Chronicle that they found the data of customers of these organisations to be genuine.

The notices pertain to the data seized from the accused in three cases, including that seized from accused Vinay Bhardwaj, who was arrested on Saturday.
