ANANTAPUR: A young man, K. Giriprasad, suffered serious injuries after he was reportedly pushed out from a running train by the ticket collector in Muddanur mandal in Kadapa district on Monday.  The passenger, a native of Chintakunta in Putlur mandal in Anantapur district, was returning from Tirupati. He got onto the Haripriya Express at Tirupati railway station. He had bought a ticket to Yerraguntla in Kadapa district, but continued his journey to Tadipatri without extending the ticket.

The ticket collector noticed that Giriprasad was travelling without a ticket and questioned him. The youth told him that he had bought a ticket to Yerraguntla, but had been unable to alight on time. A heated argument took place between the two. The ticket collector allegedly lost his temper and pushed Giriprasad, who was standing near the door, from the train near Muddanur.

The fall rendered him unconscious and he was taken to Tadipatri hospital by an ambulance, and later to Kurnool. Guntakal railway authorities said action would be initiated after receiving a complaint.
