MIM corporator booked for bullying Hyderabad policemen
The policemen tried to enforce the no-gathering rule during Ramzan prayers
Hyderabad: After a video of MIM corporator Murtaza Ali allegedly assaulting and obstructing a police constable spread on social media, police booked a case against him on Friday.
A police team had gone to a mosque after they got information about a gathering there. The corporator and his followers reached the spot and started confronting the police personnel.
In the video, the corporator can be seen threatening the constables that he would lodge a complaint against them with senior police officers for not allowing people to offer prayers during Ramzan.
Assistant commissioner of police, Santoshnagar, S.V.N. Shivaram Sharma said, “We have booked a case against Murtaza Ali for assaulting a police officer and obstructing him from discharging his duties. Further enquiry is underway.”
