Hyderabad: After a heated argument with his friend on WhatsApp, a teenager tried to set himself ablaze in front of the Vanasthalipuram police station on Wednesday. The boy came to the police station to file a complaint saying that his classmate had abused him. When the police asked him to solve the issue without a case as they were classmates, he brought kerosene and poured it over him. Police stopped him and solved the matter by calling the parents of both the students.

Police said the teenagers were first year degree students at a private college and they had a fight in their Whatsapp group. “The boy came to the police station and alleged that his classmate had abused him in filthy language. Our SI found the issue was not serious. So, he advised the boy to talk to the other boy and solve the issue amicably. The boy left the station, but late came and tried to set himself ablaze," said Vanasthalipuram inspector S. Murali Krishna.
The boy was rescued and later counselled by the parents and the police. The names of the boys were not revealed as no police case was registered and the dispute was settled.
