Burglar tries to break Axis Bank ATM in Mailardevpally

Hyderabad: A burglar attempted to break open an Axis Bank ATM at Katedan in Mailardevpally in the early hours of Monday. However, he failed in his attempt to take the cash as the main chest could not be broken. The incident was recorded by CCTV camera. Mailardevpally police has started an investigation following a complaint from the bank.

During the inquiry police found that bank officials had not locked the upper side of the ATM properly and the burglar had tried to use make use of the chance.

According to the police officials, the incident happened after midnight. "A man wearing a head scarf came inside the ATM centre, walked around and started pulling the upper part of the ATM. The touch screen and computer came off into his hand as they were not properly locked," said an official from Mailardevpally police station.

However, the man could not break the main chest which contains money.  Police officials have circulated the photograph, a CCTV grab, of the suspect to trace him. The bank officials said that no cash was stolen.
