Hyderabad: A gang of seven persons including two juveniles have been apprehended by the Uppal police for robbing a lorry driver who was travelling from Kaleshwaram to the city at Uppal metro station in June.
According to the Uppal police, a robbery case was booked on June 12, where Sahara Lingaiah, 25, of Nalgonda district, who was transporting sand to the city from Kaleshwaram was attacked by three persons, who stole his mobile phone and some cash from his pockets.
“The accused trio told the lorry driver that he had hit their bikes and took the money. They also threatened to lodge a complaint with the police,” said the police.
During the probe, the accused persons have been identified as Chanulla Pavan Kumar, 24, Deshetty Venkatesh alias Chintu, 19, Nampally Bhanu Prakash, 23, Katepaga Sai Kumar, 23, and Gundala Hari Shankar, 43, besides two juveniles. All of them were caught on Wednesday morning.

“The five accused have been remanded to judicial custody and the juveniles were produced before the Juvenile Justice Board,” said the police.
