Mandal parishad officer held for taking bribe

Warangal: A mandal parishad development officer was nabbed for accepting a bribe of Rs 1.4 lakh from a village secretary at his residence near a private function hall in Excise Colony of Hanumakonda district. The money was also retrieved from his possession.

The village secretary, Kishore, of Inavolu village, approached the anti-corruption bureau with a complaint, following which the residence and office of MPDO Kumaraswamy were raided.

Officials of the ACB appealed to the public to call their toll-free number 1064 to file charges against officials for seeking bribes. They also warned people not to offer bribes, as it was also an offence.
