Bhopal: A man in a Madhya Pradesh village on Tuesday strangled his wife to death for allegedly being late in serving his morning tea, police said.

The incident took place in the village of Thatipur under Gwalior district, the police said.

According to the police, the couple, Mohit Rajak (27) and his wife Sadhna (22), had heated exchanges over the latter’s insistence to visit a local temple in the morning.

The family members had to intervene to pacify them.

The couple again started quarrelling when Mohit accused his wife of delaying serving his morning tea.

The accused started thrashing her and later in a fit of anger, allegedly strangled her to death, police said.

The family members later found her dead and informed her parents about the incident.

Her parents rushed to the spot and discovered marks on her neck and informed the police suspecting it to be a case of murder.

“The accused was arrested. He confessed to the crime and said that he killed his wife for being late in serving tea. But, police is probing all angles”, Vishwavidyalaya police station in-charge Manish Dhakad said.
