Elderly couple's throat slit, burnt on suspicion of practising black magic

On being informed of the incident, a police team rushed to the spot and recovered the charred bodies.

Khunti: An elderly tribal couple were allegedly burnt after slitting their throats by a group of unidentified persons for practising black magic at Badinichkel village of Khunti district, the police said on Sunday.

About eight persons barged to the house of 65-year-old Das Munda and dragged him as well as his wife Simni Mundain (60) outside their house and slit their throat suspecting them of practicing witchcraft, Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Ranveer Singh, said.

After committing the crime, Singh said the assailants burnt the bodies. On being informed of the incident, a police team rushed to the spot and recovered the charred bodies.

Police has started investigating the incident.
