Tamil Nadu: Judge offered supervisor post' by bogus manpower agencies
The bench said they are so powerful and capable of giving appointment order to even a sitting High Court Judge.
Chennai: The Madras High court has ordered probe into the scam of bogus recruitment agencies after a sitting judge of the High Court received bogus interview call letters from fake manpower agencies for the post of ‘supervisor’. In an urgent special sitting, division bench comprising Justices N. Kirubakaran and S. Vaidyanathan ordered the probe and directed the authorities to file report.
Justice S. Vaidyanathan took up the matter with Chief Justice Indira Banerjee and got permission for a special suo motu hearing in the matter after the judge received five interview call letters from various fake agencies. Call letters sent by Reliance Industrial Recruitment of Tirupur, Air Tech Solutions HRD, Tiruchy, Renald Industrial recruitment of Tirupur, Volvo Industrial, Tirupur and Diamond Industrial Recruitment, Coimbatore in the name of S. Vaidyanathan at his Villivakam residence address.
In one of the letters sent from Volvo Industrial Recruitment, it was mentioned that there was a communication from the candidate, through e-mail and SMS, based on which the candidate has been called for interview for the post of ‘supervisor’ and that the candidate has been selected provisionally for the post of supervisor.
On verification it was identified that the phone number mentioned in the letter belonged to a student who also received similar communication dated August 24. The letter also contains the emblem of the Central and State Governments and that the student (Bharathiraja) was selected for the post of clerk under Rajiv Vikas Yojna (Direct Recruitment Act) with monthly salary of Rs 26,500.
The bench said they are so powerful and capable of giving appointment order to even a sitting High Court Judge. It appears from the communication by the so-called companies are trying to play a fraud on young aspiring students inducing them to pay money to get a job. It appears to be a scam. We are surprised as to how the address of one of us is made available to these persons. And, the Court will have to take stringent view in the matter.
“These kinds of fake companies and farce interview letters are being sent as the Government has not created any avenue of employment in Tamil Nadu”, the bench said. The bench directed the Central and State governments and the police and other authorities to conduct investigation and submit a detailed report to this Court. The bench adjourned the matter to October 13 for further hearing.
