Coimbatore: Cop attempts suicide over illicit affair

Coimbatore: A cop committed suicide by consuming poison at the house of his paramour following a quarrel. He was upset after his wife complained against him at the commissioner office. According to police, Santhosh, 34, police constable at Singanalloor police station, resides on Samiyar Pudhu Street in Peelamedu-Sowripalayam along with his wife Jency and 8-year-old daughter.

Santhosh once again visited his paramour’s house and picked up a quarrel with her. Following a heated quarrel Santhosh consumed poison and fainted. She rushed him to Coimbatore Medical College Hospital but went missing after that. Santhosh is being treated in ICU. Ramanathapuram police has lodged a complaint and has started further investigations.
