Bengaluru: 3 arrested for auto driver's murder
The three got upset and picked up a fight.
Bengaluru: Jnanabharathi police have arrested three people, including a rowdy sheeter, for murdering an auto driver over a petty issue on January 24.
The accused have been identified as Shridhar alias Gorilla, 37, a resident of Vijayanagar, his associates, Manjesh, 23, a resident of Anjananagar and Venkatesh, a resident of KR Nagar in Mysuru.
Shridhar was listed as a rowdy sheet and there were several cases against him, including murder, attempt to murder, assault and dacoity booked in Vijaynagar, Basaveshwarnagar and Kamakshipalya police station limits.
According to the police, on January 24, at around 11:30 pm, the three had gone to a bar. While leaving they noticed Raghu, who was standing near his auto on the opposite side of the road and staring at them. The three got upset and picked up a fight. In a fit of anger one of them stabbed him in the stomach and fled.
Raghu immediately called his friend, who rushed to the spot and took him to the nearby hospital, but he succumbed on the way.
Jnanabharathi police have registered a case and arrested the three accused with the help of CCTV footage.
