Bengaluru: Rs 45 lakh seized from two-wheeler

The police have arrested Rahul, a resident of Vinoba Nagar on JC Road, and seized Rs 45 lakh unaccounted cash from him.

Bengaluru: Mahalakshmi Layout police have arrested a 30-year-old man for allegedly carrying unaccounted cash on a two-wheeler on Tuesday morning.

The police have arrested Rahul, a resident of Vinoba Nagar on JC Road, and seized Rs 45 lakh unaccounted cash from him.

After receiving information from the Election Commission Flying Squad, which was on duty on J.D. Naidu Hall Road, the police rushed to the spot at 10:30 am, detained Rahul and seized a Honda Dio scooter.

During the check, the Election Commission Flying Squad, led by Hanumanth Bagli, had recovered bundles of cash wrapped in newspapers and kept in a backpack.

Police later arrested Rahul as he did not furnish any supporting documents and cash was seized.

Rahul told police that he works for a jewellery shop - S.S. Jewellery and the cash belonged to the owner. The police have registered a case and begun investigation.
