Four of a family killed after car rams into pillar at Turkalapally

Police said the accident occurred when the driver lost control over the vehicle which rammed into the pillar

Hyderabad: Four members of a family from Suryapet district, who were returning home after offering prayers at a dargah in Kadapa, died on the spot when their car rammed a concrete pillar at Turkalapally of Charakonda mandal in Nagarkurnool district.

The victims were identified as Ghouse Khan, 55, Farhana, 45, Sadhika, 55 and Roshan. 24, residents of Neredcherla of Suryapet district. Another person, Imtiyaz, 25, suffered serious injuries.

Police said the accident occurred when the driver lost control over the vehicle which rammed into the pillar. "Passers by noticed the mishap and alerted us. We rushed to the place and found four persons dead and another man was unconscious," police said. The front portion of the vehicle was damaged completely. Police had difficulty in rescuing the survivor and retrieving the bodies of the dead. Imtiyaz has been sent to a hospital in Hyderabad for better treatment.
