Hyderabad: 6 arrested for illegal sale of gutka
An official said 10,000 packets of gutka, four mobile phones, three goods carrier vehicles and Rs 42,000 were seized from the accused.
Hyderabad: Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force arrested six members of a gang for illegally transporting gutka worth Rs 10 lakh. Police seized the contraband and vehicles among other things from the accused.
Accused Akshay Bohara, 24, supplied gutka in the state while his aide Mohammed Azim Uddin, 29, was the delivery agent, Task Force DCP P. Radhakrishna Rao said. The other persons accused were identified as Kongodige Mallikarjun, 58, Dayanand Pandurang Solunke, 21, Sanjay Pandurang Patil, 34 and Murhari Sridhar Solanke, 32.
An official said 10,000 packets of gutka, four mobile phones, three goods carrier vehicles and Rs 42,000 were seized from the accused. The gang sold gutka packets at a price higher than the MRP. The six arrested were handed over to the Shahinayathgunj police for further investigation.
