4 special teams to probe Dharmapuri youth murder

Dharmapuri: The Dharmapuri police has appointed four special teams to trace criminals involved in the murder of 25-year-old B. Munusamy. Munusamy of Jarugu village near Thoppur in Dharmapuri district was shot dead by miscreants who tried to misbehave with his niece.

Sources said that Munusamy and the girl had gone to Hogenakkal on Wednesday and were returning home on a two-wheeler. Munusamy who was driving stopped the vehicle at Pannapatti near Hogenakkal and they both entered the forest to spend some time together.

Four unknown men accosted them and tried to misbehave with the girl. Munusamy died while trying to save the girl when one among the four opened fire at him with a country-made gun.

The miscreants tried to drag the girl into the forest, but she escaped and reached the Pennagaram-Hogenakkal road. Other picnickers who noticed the girl crying for help, saved her and called the police. Hogenakkal police recovered the dead body of Munusamy.

With no clue about the criminals, Dharmapuri police appointed four special teams to probe the case. The ‘Q’ branch and anti-Naxalite wing police are assisting the special team.
