Jaipur: Man dies in accident, passing vehicles crush body to pieces
By the time the police arrived, the man's body parts were scattered all over the road.
Jaipur: A 30-year-old man was killed in a road accident in Jaipur late on Thursday night, and his body lay on the road for half an hour, being run over again and again by vehicles.
According to a report in Hindustan Times, the man was killed in an apparent hit-and-run incident in the heart of Jaipur. By the time the police arrived, the man’s body parts were scattered all over the road.
“We had received information from the control room about the body of a man lying on the road near the Polo Victory cinema hall. When the police reached the spot they found that the body was mutilated because it was hit by one or two other vehicles,” Rajendra Singh, SHO, accident police station was quoted as saying.
Police said the man was probably a beggar who lived on the road. Efforts were on to identify the deceased, said the report. There are few streets lights on the stretch of road where the man was killed, and CCTV cameras don’t have night vision facility, which would have enabled them to identify the victim and the culprit.
This incident is similar to the one in Delhi last month, where a man knocked down by a lorry died after he lay bleeding on the road for hours without any help.
