DRI seizes 5 kg cocaine at Shamshabad airport
Hyderabad: The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) seized 5 kg cocaine at the Shamshabad airport from an Indian national who was arriving from Laos via Singapore and was bound for Delhi. The contraband, wrapped in brown tape, was concealed in the false bottom of a check-in suitcase and four ladies’ handbags carried in the check-in baggage, the DRI said. The haul was valued at Rs.50 crore in the international market.
LB Nagar SOT seizes 270 Kg ganja worth 60 lakh
Hyderabad: The LB Nagar special operation team in separate cases arrested six persons for transporting narcotics and seized 270 kilograms of ganja worth Rs.60 lakh from them. The arrests were carried out along with the Abdullapurmet and Pochampally police. In one case, police arrested four peddlers with 200 kg ganja that they were taking from Odisha to Rajasthan via the ORR. At Juluru crossroads, the police arrested two persons and seized 70 kg ganja.
Govt forms panels to resolve issues of ANMs
Hyderabad: The state government has constituted a committee to address the issues of auxillary nurse midwife (ANM) as contractual and outsourced workers. The decision was announced by Health Secretary S.A.M. Rizvi on Saturday. The decision was taken following the meeting with the ANM workers with the health director. The three-member committee would comprise the project director, TS AIDS Control Society (TSACS) as the chairperson, the director of medical education and the director of public health as members. The committee would submit a report to the government with recommendations as per the demands of the ANM workers for hiring and salaries.
