Medico held for murdering wife in Chittoor district
Police said trouble started between the couple after Babu started doubting the victim.
Nellore: Suspecting her fidelity, a house surgeon chopped his wife into pieces and disposed of the body in the forest near Chandragiri in Chittoor district. The murder came to light after Nellore Fourth Town police arrested K. Sudheer Kumar Babu, 29, on Sunday.
According to Fourth Town circle inspector Seetharamaiah, Babu of Kaligiri in Chittoor district had married M. Vineeta, 27, of Dharmavaram in Anantapur district following a love affair four years back.
Sudheer is working as a house surgeon in Narayana Medical College at Nellore after completing his MBBS from the same institute. The couple used to stay at Aravindnagar, close to the RTC bus stand in Nellore.
Police said trouble started between the couple after Babu started doubting the victim. On September 28, he beat up Vineeta and strangled her after a quarrel. Her father Nathaniyaan alerted the police the next day when he found no response to his calls to Vineeta.
To dispose of the body, Babu used his medical background cut it into pieces and carried them in two suitcases to Tirupati in a bus and threw it in the forest at Bakarapeta in Chandragiri mandal.
Based on the complaint of the victim’s father, the police broke open the house on September 29 but they could not find any traces of the crime because the doctor had taken care to wipe off blood stains.
He confessed after the police led by Mr Seetharamaiah grilled him after taking him into custody. Police sent the body for autopsy in Tirupati and arrested Babu on Sunday.
