Noida: Men posing as cops storm houses, loot, steal chicken, gangrape 3 women

Greater Noida: Three women brick-klin workers were allegedly gangraped by six robbers who looted their houses in Noida's Karoli village and stole their chicken, police said on Thursday.

An FIR has been registered in the matter, Greater Noida Superintendent of Police Sujata Singh said, adding medical examination of the victims have been conducted.

The robbers stormed the houses around 12.30 am in the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday. The assailants, posing as policemen, told the labourers that they had come to check if there was any illicit liquor at their homes, according to reports.

They then tied up the male members of the families, looted their belongings, ate at their homes, raped three women and stole six chickens. The men were armed with country-made weapons, one of the rape victims' husband said.

The accused looted all their valuables and about Rs 20,000. The workers said they were saving the money for their children, but now they will have to start from scratch.

Police said they suspect the involvement of locals in the incident and have formed teams to arrest the assailants.
