Anantapur: Preliminary investigations over the suspicious death of intermediate student Sudha from a private junior college in Anantapur “concluded” that the girl committed suicide by jumping from fourth floor of the college two days ago.

Her parents suspected foul play as there were no injuries on her head after jumping from the fourth floor. They accused the college management of hiding facts. However, the preliminary investigation by Disha police led by DSP Anthonappa “concluded” that the girl committed suicide by jumping from the top floor.

The report said, “Patil Sudha, native of Kalugotla village in Bommanahal mandal in Rayadurg assembly segment in the district, was studying senior intermediate. She reached the college after taking part in Gowramma festival in the village on Dec 1 and informed his father that she reached the college hostel. In the evening, she went to Room 7 on the fourth floor of the hostel. There, she spoke to her roommates for a few minutes and came out. She closed the doors of her room and jumped from the fourth floor.

DSP Anthonappa stated, “When the girl jumped from the top floor, her right leg thigh bone and also pelvic bones were fractured, after her right leg touched the ground. Further, her rib bones fractured and hit her lungs, causing haemorrhage and led to death on the spot.”

Police said parents of the deceased felt there were no symptoms of a fall from the fourth floor and there were injuries on her throat. “But the preliminary investigations based on available evidences including CC footage led us to conclude that the girl committed suicide.”

“We are investigating the reasons for her extreme step,” the DSP said and added that a case will be registered against the college management under JJ Act if it is found that they have any role in this.”
