Hyderabad: A visa agent has cheated dozens of youngsters to the tune of a few lakhs of after promising visas to gulf countries, it has been alleged. Each victim is believed to have paid suspect Imaruddin Siddiqui Rs 80,000 and spent months in waiting. Siddiqui is believed to have taken the money and suddenly disappeared, after closing down his office at Chanderghat. A police investigation was launched after the complaints were filed.

A group of victims had approached Chaderghat police seeking action against Siddiqui, who was running a travel agency called ‘Alien’ at Kachiguda. “He promised jobs in Gulf countries including Dubai a months ago. But recently, he shut down the travel agency and went absconding,” said Chanderghat police Inspector G. Sattaiah.
