Cops arrest 12 for murder of 1 in Telangana, 3 absconding
Nizamabad: Nizamabad police on Wednesday arrested 12 persons in the case of the brutal murder of one Ibrahim Chous alias Jangal Ibbu of Babansahabpahad that took place on January 1.
The arrested were identified as Syed Arif alias Don Arif, 30, Amer Ali Khan, 22, Mohammad Aija Ahmed, 25, Sheik Amjad alias Sonar Amjad, 50, Sheik Khader alias Bullet Khader, 27, Sheik Moiz alias Don Moiz, 36, Mirza Khaja Beig, 40, Syed Mudassir alias Malla, 20, Sheik Nadeem, 30, Sheik Arshad, 27, Abdul Fazal alias Abbu, 22 and Irfan Khan, 34 and all residents of Nizamabad and Nehrunagar.
Speaking to reporters here, Nizamabad assistant commissioner of police A. Venkateshwarlu said that 12 accused were arrested and three more were absconding. The deceased, Ibrahim Chous, and the accused, Syed Arif, and his followers were involved in anti-social activities for the last few months and PD Act was also invoked against them, he said. The duo was released from jail recently and was trying for supremacy in anti-social activities, ACP said.
Arif invited Chous to a birthday party at Basheerfarm where he stabbed the latter. Past enmity regarding land and rice issues between them led to the murder, the ACP said.
Following the directives of Nizamabad commissioner of police K.R. Naga Raju, deputy commissioner Arvind Babu, Nizamabad south rural CI Jagadam Naresh and his team investigated the case and nabbed the accused near Sarangapur, he said.
