Mysuru: Raid on government official nets Rs 19 crore assets
ACB sleuths seized 2.3 kg gold, 8 kg silver, one bike, two cars and Rs 60,000 in cash.
Mysuru: Anti-Corruption Bureau on Friday raided the residence and office of Ranganatha Nayka, Superintendent Engineer of rural drinking water and sanitation division, department of rural development and panchayat.
The ACB team, headed by SP B.T. Kavitha and DySP Gajendra Prasad, raided his apartment in Manasa Tranquil, Vijaynagar first stage, and his office in Kuvempunagar Mysuru. Simultaneous raids were also conducted at his apartments in Nagavara in Bengaluru, farm house in Chikkamagluru.
The ACB sources claim they have seized gold, silver, cash and property documents, registered in his name and under aliases, worth more than Rs 19 crore.
ACB sleuths seized 2.3 kg gold, 8 kg silver, one bike, two cars and Rs 60,000 in cash. They also found that he had stashed Rs 33 lakh in cash in a locker at Indian Overseas Bank branch in Mysuru and Rs 2 lakh in cash in Bank of Baroda branch in J.P. Nagar, Bengaluru.
They have seized documents of his flat in Manasa Tranquil, worth over Rs 25 lakh, a six-floor apartment built on 45x60 site in Nagavara near Manyata Tech Park in Bengaluru, worth Rs 11 crore, one flat in Mantri Green apartment in Malleswaram, Bengaluru, worth Rs 68 lakh, one BDA site measuring 50x 80 sq ft in Visvesvaraya Layout in Bengaluru worth Rs 80 lakh.
He also owned 14 acres of land, worth Rs 40 lakh, in Chikmagaluru district. The documents are still being examined, ACB SP B.T. Kavitha said.
