Hyderabad: Stalker hires detectives to track girl
Mahesh, junior research fellow at DRDO, his spooks get arrested.
Hyderabad: A junior research fellow working at the DRDO, stalking a minor girl and had appointed detectives to enquire into her activities, was arrested by Chaitanyapuri police on Wednesday.
Police arrested the alleged stalker Devanga Mahesh Kumar, 23, as well as ex-serviceman Chikka Kiran Kumar, 39, who runs the Scout Detective Agency illegally along with his female employee, Bathula Suhasini.
Three days ago, Chaitanyapuri police received a complaint from a city resident that some unidentified persons had gone to his daughter’s college and enquired about her personal details.
They gave their mobile number to the college authorities to give them information about the girl. The college principal called the girl’s mother and informed her that a couple had inquired about her daughter, a resident of Chaitanyapuri and an Intermediate II student.
Police registered a case under IPC Section 509 (act intended to outrage the modesty of a woman) read with 109, and Sections 12 read with 17 of the Pocso Act for investigation. During inquiry, police identified the pair as detective agency owner Kiran Kumar, hailing from Nalgonda district and resident of Kothapet, and Suhasini, 33, a native of Khammam and resident of Saroornagar. On being questioned, they said that they were hired by Mahesh Kumar who paid them Rs 17,000 to extract details of the girl. Mahesh Kumar was then arrested.
Rachakonda police commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat said that Mahesh has been working as a Junior Research Fellow at DRDO RCI at Hyderabad and lives at Thriveninagar in Balapur.
He used to follow the girl on her way back home from college at Balapur crossroads. He tried contacting her but she did not respond.
He said that Mahesh found the detective agency on the internet and paid them Rs 17,000 to observe the movements of the girl and get her contact details and social media profiles along with photographs and videos.
