Chennai: 2 hurt, 6 vehicles damaged after Audi jumps signal
According to the police Murali was rushing to airport to pick up his employer.
Chennai: At least two persons were injured and six vehicles damaged after the driver of an Audi A3 jumped the traffic signal on GST road near Pazhavanthangal subway on Wednesday afternoon. "Two persons including the driver of Audi (TN07 BD 5121) were injured in the mishap, which left six vehicles including a bike damaged," police said.
According to the police, Murali, who was driving the luxury sedan towards the airport failed stop at red signal and accelerated hoping to cross before vehicles from other sides rushed in. After hitting a call taxi, which was taking a right turn from GST road to Pazhavanthagal from the airport side, the Audi ran into the vehicles waiting for the signal on its left. "A 60-year-old biker injured in the process. Totally five cars, including the Audi, were damaged in the mishap," police said.
According to the police Murali was rushing to airport to pick up his employer, a resident of Thiruvanmiyur, who had already landed and was waiting for him. Police booked Murali for rash driving.
