Tamil Nadu: Four kill tiger by poisoning bison's carcass, arrested

Following investigations, forest officials arrested Jadaisi, Muthusamy, Velmurugan and Sivaji from Bejaletti tribal village.

ERODE: As many as four persons were arrested on charges of killing a tiger by poisoning near Sathyamangalam, even as Forest officials are on the lookout for five more persons in connection with this startling incident.

The officials recently found the carcass of a tiger at Marikudi area near Thalamalai in Sathyamangalam forest range. Investigation by a team led by joint director of Sathyamangalam Reserve Forest, Arunlal, revealed that the tiger died after eating a poisoned carcass of a bison, which was apparently earlier killed by the tiger.

Following investigations, forest officials arrested Jadaisi, Muthusamy, Velmurugan and Sivaji from Bejaletti tribal village. During the inquiry, they confessed to the crime.  they poisoned the dead bison and stole the nail and teeth of the dead tiger.
