Body of dead newborn found in Visakhapatnam
Vishakapatnam: Arilova police found the body of a newborn wrapped in papers in Thotagaruvu area of Visakhapatnam on Wednesday morning.
Arilova circle inspector Somasekhar said mason Siva and his wife Divya had not been aware that the latter was pregnant.
When she fell ill, she went to Visakhapatnam Institute of Medical Sciences for a check-up. Doctors examined her and informed that she is pregnant. But the baby had not formed properly.
The doctors suggested that Divya get treatment at King George Hospital. While she was preparing to go to KGH, she developed pains and delivered a dead baby. Divya wrapped the dead baby’s body in papers and left it on the premises of a nearby building. When locals noticed the body, they informed police.
Police have registered a case under Section 174 (suspicious death) and questioned the couple.
