Hyderabad: Youth Congress leader M. Vikram Goud who is the main accused in the firing on him a week ago, was arrested by Banjara Hills police, after he was discharged from hospital. He was produced in court and was remanded to 14 days judicial custody. The court also dismissed the bail petition filed by his advocate on his behalf.

On Wednesday, Hyderabad police arrested S. Nandu Kumar, Shaikh Ahmed and Raees Khan, who executed the attack. They said that Vikram had planned the attack to gain public sympathy, get a ticket for the next general elections and to keep his financiers away for some time. But the plan backfired and it was proven that Vikram himself planned and got the attack staged.

Vikram’s advocate told the court that he needed medical care as he had not recovered completely. The court directed the superintendent of Chanchalguda central prison to ensure that adequate treatment was given.

Last Friday, Vikram’s wife Shipali, after hearing him shouting for help, found him in a pool of blood. She claimed that some persons shot at Vikram at home and fled. Police arrested the suspects and recovered the weapon which was used to fire at Vikram.
