KARIMNAGAR: Sircilla police cracked the murder case of a 65-year-old man within hours after the complaint by arresting three persons including his wife apart from seizing a car, mobile phone and ₹20,000 in cash from their possession in Rajanna Sircilla district on Thursday.

SP Akhil Mahajan said that the victim was identified as Ramdani Kashaiah and the accused as Ramdani Kanakavva, 60, victim’s wife, Yedula Narasaiah, 37 and Kavalla Abhilash, 24, residents of Sircilla town.

Kashaiah and Kanakavva, who migrated to Sircilla from Siddipet district 25 years ago, were vegetable vendors and had two daughters who were married and a son who was mentally ill.

Kashaiah, an alcoholic, used to beat and harass his wife, suspecting her fidelity. Unable to bear his torture, Kanakavva hired Narsaiah and Abhilash to kill her husband for a supari of ₹3 lahks.

They smothered Kashaiah to death by using a pillow while he was sleeping at his house on July 13. Later, they buried the body near Manair Vagu check dam at Nehru Nagar.

On August 2, Kashaiah’s brother Ramdani Yellaiah of Ramancha village of Siddipet district lodged a complaint with Sircilla police saying his brother had been missing for 14 days, suspecting his wife’s hand.

Following the investigation, the police arrested the three accused at Thangallapally village. The SP appreciated the investigating team for cracking the case within a day.
