Palakkad: The local police had initially tried to hush up the complaint filed with them by the girl students of Ottapalam school regarding the indecent behaviour of  actor  Sreejith Ravi. This was stated by Ottapalam  sub-collector P.B. Nooh who collected the statement of the girls after the girls’ parents complained to Collector P. Marykutty about the matter.

The sub-collector is investigating the alleged laxity of the local police in acting on the complaint filed by the girls. Sreejith Ravi, son of veteran actor T.G. Ravi, was arrested on Friday and charged  with exhibitionism, uttering lewd comments and  clicking the photographs of  a group of school girls.  He was released  on conditional bail by Palakkad District Additional Sessions Court -1.

Mr Nooh told DC on Saturday that the girls and the school authorities had told him that a civil police officer, who first reached the school after the complaint was filed on August 27,  tried to put pressure on the girls to play down the issue. “I have collected the statements of the girls and school authorities  and on Monday I will get the police version before the final report is submitted to the collector by Tuesday,” Mr Nooh said.
