Five held for murder of realtor at Meerpet

Hyderabad: An extramarital relationship was the motive behind the murder of realtor Srinivas Goud at Meerpet, said Rachakonda police who arrested five persons for involving in the offence.

On November 28, realtor G. Srinivas Goud, 39, was hacked to death by two persons at Teacher’s colony in Meerpet, when he was going on a bike with a cousin. A case of murder was registered by  Meerpet police who arrested five persons, G. Sridhar Reddy, 38, a farmer from Rachalapally in Nagarkurnool district, N. Srinu, 30, of Allamaiahpalli, R Lalu Naik, 25, N. Laxman, 41 and K. Srinivas Reddy.

Rachakonda police commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat said that Goud, while staying in Thimmarasipally developed an extramarital affair with Sridhar’s wife Ashwini. Sridhar got to know about this and shifted his family to another village, but Goud continued to visit Ashwini.

Goud had been making calls to Sridhar about the intimacy with his wife and also sent their intimate pictures. Based on Sridhar’s complaint, cyber crime police arrested Goud, but he did not stop talking to Ashwini and instead planned to kill Sridhar and grab his 50 acres land. Sridhar decided to eliminate Goud. “Sridhar discussed his plan to kill Goud with Srinu, Naik and Laxman, who work in his agricultural fields and promised to give them Rs 3 lakh and arrange bail for them if they were caught. He purchased two SIM cards and a used car at Jadcherla. On the day of the murder, Srinivas shared the movements of Goud with Sridhar, which he conveyed to Naik and Srinu who were waiting in the car. They intercepted Goud’s bike and hacked him to death,” said the commissioner.

After the murder, the three met at Champapet and threw the cellphone which they used to coordinate before and after the murder. They were arrested and produced before the court.
