Bengaluru: Senthil (34), who on Friday stabbed his in-laws to death and also stabbed his wife and another person at Annapoorneshwari Layout in Konanakunte police station limits, was arrested on Saturday.

Police said that Senthil, a small time textile merchant, was absconding after the incident and special teams were formed to nab him. “Information was gathered about his movements and early Saturday, we received information that he had taken shelter at a relative’s house near Madanayakanahalli. A team rushed there and secured him,” an official said.

Senthil’s questioning revealed that he murdered his in-laws Kumar, 60, and Murugamma, 55, and also stabbed his wife Satyavathi, 31, and their neighbour Manjunath, as they refused to send his wife with him.

“Investigations revealed that Senthil and Satyavathi got married four years ago after being in a relationship. As Senthil turned out to be a habitual drunkard, Satyavathi deserted him a few months ago and was living with her parents. Senthil had gone to his in-laws’ house on several occasions and requested them to send his wife with him, but they had refused,” an official said.

Senthil told police that on Friday evening also he had gone there to ask them to send his wife. “When they refused, he lost his temper and picked up a knife from the kitchen and stabbed his in-laws and wife. He also confessed to have stabbed Manjunath, a neighbour, who tried to save them,” the official added.
