CISF detects gold concealed in iron bearings at RGIA, arrests three smugglers from TN
Hyderabad: The central intelligence wing of the CISF deployed at Shamshabad detected gold that was being smuggled in iron bearings on Sunday. It apprehended three persons from Tamil Nadu found in possession of the gold and seized yellow metal weighing around 600 gms worth Rs 33.73 lakh.
The CISF said the trio — M. Ashfaque Ahmed, Mohammed Sheikh Abdullah and Naina Mohammed — received the bearings from passengers outside the airport, after their arrival from Dubai. Based on profiling and behaviour detection of suspicious persons near the airport, CISF inspector Ajay Kumar Singh and his team of E. Sampath Rao and S. Jani Babu apprehended the three.
During the initial inquiry, the three, who were moving around the airport in a suspicious manner, were detained for questioning. While checking their mobile phones, CISF personnel found voice messages and pictures and found that they were at the airport on instructions to receive smuggled gold from carriers.
