Chennai: Rowdy held with country bombs
Involved in advocate murder, 2 other cases.
Chennai: After a hot chase a 'rowdy', who reportedly shot his advocate dead, was nabbed for possessing two country-made bombs and sickles, by a special team led by Washermenpet DCP Selvakumar, on Monday. The arrested identified as Eesha aka Eeshwaran, (27), is a member of 'Kalvettu' Ravi gang.
The special party that raided his den following a tip-off rounded up Eesha who took to his heels. He was pinned down after a short chase by the cops, and Eesha suffered minor injuries in his legs. The arrest triggered rumours of a police shoot-out and arrest of naxalites in Choolaimedu. The cops dismissed this as mere rumours.
Eesha was picked him up along with his accomplice Jithendran, (24), also from the same neighbourhood. He is reportedly involved in at least 3 murder cases including that of advocate Kamesh reported during September last year.
He was also actively involved in two other murders reported in Thiruvottiyur Police limit in 2011 and New Washermenpet police limit in 2013, and
both the victims were from his rival gang in the city. Advocate Kamesh was the one dealing those cases for Eesha, and was shot by the latter on the way to Chennai following a binge session in Puducherry.
Chunampet police, in neighbouring Kancheepuram, are handling the shootout case. The resident of Ellaiyamman Koil street in VOC Nagar in Tondiarpet figures in 'A' category list of rowdies operating in the city, was wanted in some other cases by the city police. Jithendran who was reportedly involved in two murder cases was helping Eesha with the next hit.
