Lookout notice against Non-Resident Keralite businessman

Kochi: Police on Monday issued a lookout notice against K Mohammed Rabiullah, a Gulf-based business man hailing from Malapuram, for allegedly  masterminding abduction of an MBA student who is the son of an NRI businessman.

Earlier, police arrested five members of a gang which abducted Firazath Hassan, son of NRI businessman P A Mohammed, on March 23. The youth was later traced from a location in Pollachi and rescued.

During probe, it was revealed that Rabiullah, who runs a chain of multi-specialty hospitals in the Gulf, had contracted the gang for abducting the youth to settle old scores with the latter’s father.  The police have registered a case against the businessman under IPC section 364.

“The notice is being issued for putting airports and border posts on alert. We are also monitoring phone calls of close aids of the business man, believed to be in currently in Muscat,” an official said. Meanwhile, cops are on a search for three more persons who were suspected to be involved in the abduction.
