Pregnant minor files complaint
The girl said that she has been in love with her neighbour.
Hyderabad: A 17-year-old girl from Khammam who was cheated in love and was impregnated approached the AP Balala Hakkula Sangham on Monday. The girl said that she has been in love with her neighbour Muthaiah for three years and that he had promised to marry her. She said that she was pregnant but Muthaiah had refused to marry as she was SC.
Although Muthaiah was arrested for rape, he was released on bail. The victim said she wanted to marry the accused. Balala Hakkula Sangham demanded that the girl be shifted immediately to a rescue home. The girl, 17, hailing from Nereda village in Khammam district was in high school when she met K. Muthaiah alias Balayesu, 23, a BTech graduate. “He promised to marry me. After I conceived he started avoiding me. Despite begging him to marry me he rejected me,” said the victim who is in her sixth month of pregnancy. Her family had lodged a complaint at the Chintakani police station in Khammam district in December 2015. But after coming out he and his parents started harassing the girl again. “They offered me money for abortion. His father is an influential person and is using everything in his means to make me agree to their conditions,” the girl said. She made an appeal to the Balala Hakkula Sangham to unite her with Muthaiah. “After delivery her child should be entrusted to at the shishu vihar’s care and the girl should be allowed to continue her education and all benefits due to her should be released immediately,” Balala Hakkula Sangham president Anuradha Rao said.
