SSLC exam: 2 minors booked for cheating
The students were caught at New Age School around 10 am.
BENGALURU: Two minors were booked on charges of impersonation and cheating after they were allegedly caught writing the SSLC exam for someone else at HAL police limits on Monday.
The students were caught at New Age School around 10 am. One of the arrested is a II PU student. The police are also probing the role of the father of the SSLC student, for whom the arrested was writing the exam.
The supervisor at the exam centre noticed something fishy, checked the admission cards and caught the two minors. The jurisdictional police, who were informed, detained the two students. An alert was also made to the Child Welfare Committee about the arrest of the two minors.
“It was the mathematics paper. The supervisor who was on rounds noticed the II PUC student and alerted the authorities. The father of the actual candidate is a PT teacher in another school,” a senior police officer said. HAL police have registered a case under Sections 419 (Punishment for impersonation) and 420 of IPC.
Maths paper ‘leak’: SSLC students panic
SSLC students, who appeared for the mathematics exam on Monday, started their day with thick rumors over the question paper leak through WhatsApp. But the Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board denied any paper leak, saying a few vested interests were trying to create a panic among students. It started with the Vijayanagar police arresting three people, who were trying to sell a few handwritten question papers. Soon the news spread, and the students went into panic. But KSEEB Director Yashoda Bopanna cleared the air saying that the handwritten question papers seized from the three accused did not mach with the original question paper. Primary and Secondary Education Minister Kimmane Rathnakar too confirmed that the SSLC maths paper had not leaked.
