CCTVs at hospital cleaning room; woman patient\'s family files police complaint
The husband and other family members went to the chamber of hospital MD Dr Ramu and found the CC camera in the room was functioning
ANANTAPUR: CC cameras inside the cleaning room of a ward in a private nursing home, the Harshitha Hospital here, led to protests and tension on Sunday. The woman’s family members lodged a police complaint against the hospital and a case has been registered against the main doctor by the fourth town police.
According to the family members, the patient was admitted for a surgery for piles. She noticed a close circuit camera in the ward where the nursing staff did the cleaning of private parts prior to the surgery.
The patient informed this to her husband, who then questioned the staff at the hospital. The staff informed him that the cameras were installed during the Covid pandemic season and now they were not functional.
But, the husband and other family members went to the chamber of hospital managing director Dr Ramu and found the CC camera in the room was functioning and everything pertaining to pre-surgical cleaning at private parts had been recorded in it.
Several relatives of the patient gathered at the hospital and ransacked the chamber of the doctor. They staged a protest at the hospital and lodged a complaint with the fourth town police.
The police registered a case against the hospital. The family members demanded closure of the hospital and said the patient, after this incident, was in a state of depression with low blood pressure. She was immediately taken to another hospital.
