Telangana: Man held for killing daughter

KARIMNAGAR: Police has arrested the father of the newly-wed woman who was strangled on Saturday night. The victim’s father, Bhumalla Peddamalliah, 52, had told the cops that two people had overpowered him and abducted his daughter while they were returning to his house in Deshaipet village from her in-laws.

The police arrested Peddamalliah on Monday. Sources said he had disputes with his wife and daughter.  Inspector K. Rajasekhar Raju said the victim, 19-year old Emukapalli Mounika, had married one Mahesh two months back. He added that Peddamalliah has confessed killing his daughter after she spurned his sexual advances on the outskirts of Deshaipet on Saturday. He admitted that he killed her fearing that she would expose him.
