Rachakonda police arrests three for milk adulteration
The adulterated milk was supplied to sweet shops across the city.
Hyderabad: Rachakonda police on Tuesday bust a milk adulteration racket in Ibrahimpatnam and arrested three traders. The suspects have been identified as J. Venkat Reddy (40) and N. Shankar (32), both natives of Ranga Reddy district and Mohammed Arif (50), a resident of Madannapet in Saidabad.
Police, during vehicle checking, intercepted a Maruti Omni in Ibrahimpatnam and found 440 litres of adulterated milk in 11 cans.
Police found that Venkat Reddy and Shankar purchased milk from villagers and mixed it with chemicals purchased from Arif’s shop. The adulterated milk was supplied to sweet shops across the city.
Police also seized bottles of chemicals, 25 kg of milk powder, 10 skimmed milk powder packets, 21 cans containing 800 litres of milk, the Omni van and an autorickshaw. The arrested persons were sent to remand.
