As a big relief to the residents of RK Puram and Devinagar, the Neredmet police on Saturday swung into action and arrested one person from the illegal piggery involved in extracting oil from pig wastes.

GUNTUR: The police finally arrested a circle inspector who was harassing women at an apartment complex at Guntur, after AP Women Commission intervened and conducted an inquiry into the issue.

Circle inspector M. Chinna Satyanarayana was working in the Central Crime Station at Ongole but was suspended three months back.

He was living in Flat No. 123 in Seshadri Apartment at Gorantla, Guntur, with a woman who worked as an auxillary midwife nurse at Karampudi in the district.

The women living in other flats had alleged that Satyanarayana had abused them several times in an inebriated condition and created ruckus in the building. They alleged that he had discontinued paying maintenance changes.

They stated that the flat belonged to the CI’s mother-in-law but he had been living in the flat with a woman who was not his wife. The neighbours said that three months back Satyanarayana had harassed them so much that they had lodged a complaint with the police following which he was suspended.

Reportedly, the electricity department had cut off the power supply to the flat due to non-payment of bills. Satyanarayana who came back to the flat three days ago became angry and abused his neighbours for disconnecting the power supply.
