HYDERABAD: The principal district court, Bhongir, on Monday convicted a farmer to life imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 after he was found guilty in a murder case.

The accused Jogi Iliah had on February 9, 2016, rammed his tractor into Jogu Danaiah in Sitaram village of Yadadri district. Danaiah came under the wheels and died on the spot, Bhongir police said.

Ilaiah had outraged the modesty of a woman who was related to the victim and had to pay Rs 30,000 penalty as decided by the village sarpanch. Since then Illaiah developed a grudge against Danaiah, said Mahesh Bhagwat, Rachakonda police commissioner in a release on Monday.
