Bhopal: Father rapes minor daughter

Bhopal: A man in a Madhya Pradesh village was accused of raping his 16-year-old daughter after thrashing her badly, police said on Monday.

The incident took place in the remote village of Sirsoda village in Bhind district late on Saturday night.

Police quoting the alleged victim said the accused used to beat his daughter since her childhood because of his gender bias. However, her mother used to protect her from him.

Late on Saturday night, the accused confined his daughter in a room in his house and then started assaulting her ‘without any reason’.

He then allegedly raped her, investigation officer in the case K.K. Dubey said.

The victim later called police on her mother’s cell phone to inform about the incident.

According to the police, her mother was in another room in their house when the incident took place. She gave her cell phone to her daughter and asked her to alert the police.
