Hypnotic Drug Nitravet Seized

Hyderabad: The Habeebnagar police on Sunday arrested one Nade Chakradhari, who has a record of thefts, and seized a huge quantity of nitravet tablets, a psychotropic drug, from him. His sister, Naina, who was involved in this business, is absconding, police said.

Chakradhari had started procuring the tablets from Kalburagi (Gulbarga) in Karnataka and supplying them after noticing the demand for it among youngsters suffering from insomnia and seeking a sense of intoxication.

Police seized 3,420 nitravet tablets, 22 bottles of codeine phosphate and chlorpheniramine maleate syrup, other materials from him.  

Nitravet tablets are hypnotic and sedative, primarily used for severe sleep disorders. Prolonged usage or high doses of this medicine can lead to a higher risk of addiction. Chlorpheniramine maleate syrup is used or watery eyes and blocked nose.
