Hyderabad: The police booked staffers of the Royal Tiffins hotel in Banjara Hills for tampering with the crime scene in the January 1 hit-and-run incident that left two persons dead.

According to the CCTV footage accessed by the police, —  Bheemavarapu Eswari, 55, and Avidi Sreenu, 50, — landed on the premises of the hotel. Seeing them motionless, the hotel staff were seen shifting the bodies from the premises to the road.

The footage shows the car hitting the victims at 5.05 am on Sunday. The car first hit Eswari, who was tossed 20 feet up in the air and hit the tiffin centre’s board, and then Sreenu, who went rolling and landed on the hotel premises.

The hotel was open at the time of the incident, but the staff shifted them to the road, shut the hotel and fled the scene, the police said. The police, besides registering a case, also asked the GHMC to take appropriate action against the hotel.
