Hyderabad: Homeguard attacked by gang
Based on a complaint from Karan's elder brother, police registered an attempt to murder case.
Hyderabad: A home guard working for Hyderabad city police was attacked by a five-member gang in Hayathnagar on Saturday night. Karan Kumar, 28, suffered serious injuries in the abdomen. He is out of danger now.
Police said Karan Kumar, a resident of Nagole, was working in the Special Branch. On Saturday night, he and his friends Mahesh and Raju went to the Shivadurga Bar and Restaurant in Tattiannaram in Mahesh's car. After sometime, Karan dropped Raju at home in the car and returned to the bar. While parking the car, an argument broke out between Karan and five people, and it became a fight.
Mahesh was inside the bar consuming alcohol. “Suddenly one of the suspects pulled out a hacksaw blade and stabbed Karan inflicting a deep injury on the left side of his abdomen. After that they fled from the spot,” Hayathnagar inspector J. Narender Goud said. Police rushed to the spot and found Karan unconscious. They rushed him to a nearby hospital, where doctors said that he had an injury which was 16 cm long and 10 cm wide.
Based on a complaint from Karan’s elder brother, police registered an attempt to murder case. Police found the suspects were five youths who consumed alcohol in the bar, and after a brawl with the staff, they had come out. Police launched a hunt to trace the suspects.
