Hyderabad police books MIM MLA and TRS activist
The MLA denied the allegations and said the complaint was false.
Hyderabad: A local TRS woman leader approached the police alleging that she was beaten up by MIM MLA Kausar Mohiuddin and his group near Hakimpet. The MLA and his aides also allegedly beat up a former MIM worker, Mohammed Sharukh, who recently joined the TRS.
The MLA denied the allegations and said the complaint was false. His associates filed a counter complaint against Mr Sharukh for allegedly attacking the MLA’s kin. “Sharukh and others attacked my brother while they were playing on the street. They were drunk and the victim is now in hospital,” said Mr Mohiuddin.
According to the woman leader, Sana Begum, the MLA slapped her due to which she sustained an injury on her lips. “The MLA and dozens of his associates came Sharukh’s house and started beating him. They attacked his parents and whoever tried to stop them. When I questioned them, they slapped me,” she said.
Banjara Hills inspector K. Srinivas said “We are booking cases against both parties. The allegations will be probed.”
