Bengaluru: Realtor hacked to death in front of his residence
Police have identified the suspects as Naveen and Darshan, both known to Venkatesh.
BENGALURU: A 52-year-old real estate agent was hacked to death in front of his residence by two armed men in Lazar Road in Pulikeshi Nagar on Wednesday night, allegedly due to old rivalry. The police have identified the deceased as Venkatesh, a resident of Lazar road. He was living with his aged parents, wife and two children.
Police have identified the suspects as Naveen and Darshan, both known to Venkatesh. Investigations revealed that the murder took place around 10.30 pm, when Venkatesh was standing in front of his residence. The two men attacked him with sharp edged weapons and fled. The nearby residents found him lying in a pool of blood. They alerted the police and Venkatesh was rushed to Bowring hospital, where he was declared brought dead.
Venkatesh had reportedly helped Hemavathy, his neighbour, marry a man of her choice despite family opposition. However, six months ago Hemavathy allegedly committed suicide. Hemavathy’s brother Darshan blamed Venkatesh for her death. The police said Darshan and his friend Naveen decided to attack Venkatesh to avenge Hemavathy’s death.
